A relationship based on trust
Deep, active and empathetic listening, without judgement, but also questioning, helping the executive analyze from different points of view and reconsider options and opinions, checking alignment, challenging action plan and imagining alternative scenarios is at the core of my practice. I follow the “Revelation, not salvation” guideline.
Contracting
A coaching contract will be established between the Coachee, the Coach, and the organization paying for the coaching program, if not the Coachee himself.
The objectives of the coaching program will be made explicit at the beginning of the intervention. Other topics may however arise along the sessions. They will also be addressed. Re-contracting during or at the end of the contracting period may be necessary.
Practicalities of the sessions
Depending on the complexity of the situation, programs will typically start with an assessment and then either:
- comprise a number of sessions of 90 minutes to 2 hours, over a period of 6 months to 1 year, after which another final assessment will be made.
- define a period of time of 6 months to 1 year during which the Coachee will have “open access” to the coach.
The recommended periodicity is one session every 2 weeks.
Sessions will be carried out in French, English, Portuguese or Japanese.
They will take place in a quiet and secure place, preferably in a face-to-face setting.
On-line sessions are also a possibility, especially for coachees located outside Japan (Asia-Pacific, France...)
Ethics
I have been trained and certified as an Executive Coach at INSEAD (ICC program). I follow the Code of Ethics of the EMCC (European Mentor and Coach Council), of which I am a member.
I know my own limits and boundaries on the scope and methodology of my interventions, and have been supervised by an accredited INSEAD Coach Supervisor.
“Do no harm” is my fundamental safe-guard principal.
Confidentiality
Strict confidentiality will be respected. Coaching sessions may be reported to my Coaching Supervisor only, for professionalism purposes, after making sure that the identity of the Coachee and his organization are not recognizable.
In case of a program sponsored by the employer, feed-back sessions will be organized to assess the progress made. The topics covered will however be discussed and agreed with the Coachee, and the precise contents of each session kept confidential.
